Nowadays there has been an email crawling just about every e-mail account that exists on the web. It’s called “How the hell did we survive such dangerous times?”

Now, let me remained you a bit about the story and give some answers as we go.Well, the story goes like this:  To every people that has been born between the 30′es and the 79′es. I’m included here just because I was born on 1978.

  • We survived in our mothers belly all tough they were smoking and drinking. They took all kind of medicine, ate a lot of nasty stuff, rarely food from can, and didn’t get diabetes tests.

Well, caveman did lot worse and their children still survived.

Kids that survived

  • No children proof on medicine bottles, We rode our bikes without helmets, even without hands and we were hitchhiking. As infants we rode in cars with no car seats,  seat belts or air bags.

Well, to your surprise you’ll find out that infants are very malleable, hard to hurt, and now that you have all this technology would be a shame to remain mentally scarred for life because you would always be thrown to the floor of the car.

  • If we got the chance of riding in the back of a pick up truck we thought of it as a special treat. We thought that drinking water from a garden hose and not from a bottle was lot quiker.

Wouldn’t the kids today feel the same? I doubt it.

  • We shared one bottled drink with our friends, drinking all from one bottle and no one died from this.

Right, no one died, but remember herpes.

  • We ate white bread not sweet, real butter and drank cool drinks made with sugar, and we were not fat because we were always out playing, or whatever we did outside. We leaved home morning and played all day till nightfall. No one was able to find us all day long. And we were O.K.

This one is self explained, and that’s why we’ll live longer than our fat children.

  • All days long would pass building the dream go-carts out of scraps. Ride down the hill and find that brakes exist for a reason. After hitting some bushes a few times, we learned how to do that too.

Now, by that means that we should not have survived but somehow, trough our help and with trial end error, we made progress.

  • We did not have Nintendo’s, Playstations, X-boxes, no video games at all, not many channels on the tube, no DVD’s, no surround, no cells, no PCs, no Internet, chat rooms or websites.

We had friends and we were all day long with them, so why bother with all that nonsense, when Experience comes with first-hand socializing. After we grew up a little, we also mastered computers and web.

  •  We felt off trees, broke a lot of bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits because the neighbor had a cherry tree. We ate worms and mud cakes made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us (forever).
  • I have to admit, that I did not eat worms but maybe some shit, like ALL little children do.
  •  We were riding our bikes or maybe walking to a friend’s house rang the door belland just walked in and talked to them.

For that now there’s Skype and Messenger, because if you walk over to your friend, you would not get the chance to get fat.

  • Little league had to prove their worth and not everyone made in the team. Those who failed had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Now there is MMORPG and WOW to prove to. So, none dyes either.

  •  These generations produced over time the best risk-takers and  problem solvers ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation. Freedom, failure, some success and responsibility were there for us

The chance is there for your kids too. Don’t worry, they won’t die.
