Now! It was about time, we all now it’s creepy but yes, robots are talking to each other. Recently I came across a new concept: taking the internet back. And by this I mean 2 sites that promises just that. Users can take the internet back where it belongs: to the users.

Reflecting a bit upon the idea, it seemed to me that joining this 2 sites : - agloco.com and - taketheinternetback.com, I will control a more part of the internet than just my blog. But to my disgust, it was all back to making money. I mean come on! Is the internet resuming just to making and spending money? I doubt it so much. I am really glad when I open my browser and google after some information that I can’t find in my books, or some story from someone with more experience than me. That is what the internet is out there for. I mean, who in this world is opening his/her browser just to spend his/her money today? I am a pretender to the moneymaking business on the internet but I can assure you that more money can be made in the real world than on the internet. And people spend more money in the mall, then on the internet.

So, next time someone pretends to give the internet back to it’s users, I hope it’s a cheaper ISP that offers it’s services for free.

It may date back to 2003 but I stumbled upon it just now. It’s http://secondlife.com - a 3D world owned by it’s members. It may sound like it’s the afterlife because of it’s name but in fact it’s just another virtual world.

One of its interesting characteristics is that money is involved here. US dollars and Linden Dollars. With the real money you can buy Linden Dollars, with witch you can live your life in the secondlife. The idea is simple you pump some real money in secondlife, exchange them in L$ and buy a house, or a property, or even better, build your own business. Promote-it, give away some money or make some money, make new friends, do whatever you want, then return to the real life, if you made some money in the meanwhile, exchange them to real money, and maybe return the next day.

Many things can be also traded in the secondlife market.

Another interesting feature is customizability. The user can customize the surrounding objects by appearance as well as behavior. Behavior can be customized trough php code (the user has a help page to guide him trough valid php coding).

Only trough paid membership one can buy land and houses, but you can make some money and have access to the 3D environment trough a free membership also.
